Understanding your procedural safeguards is about more than knowing that you have rights—it is about understanding when those protections apply, what they mean, and how to use them purposefully as part of your child’s special education process.

The Clarity in Advocacy™ Procedural Safeguards Parent Training Series is a comprehensive, parent-focused training designed to break down IDEA procedural safeguards into clear, practical information families can actually use. The series walks parents through key protections involving parent participation, prior written notice, consent, evaluations and IEEs, education records, State complaints, mediation, due process, resolution sessions, stay-put, discipline protections, and more.

The training includes 14 structured modules, coordinating parent workbooks and presentations, practical review tools, worksheets, checklists, and federal and Kentucky resources. Throughout the series, parents are taught not only what IDEA requires, but also the important distinction between what is required, prohibited, permitted, and useful advocacy practice.

The series is built around The Clarity in Advocacy™ Method, helping families move through the special education process with greater understanding, organization, communication, and purposeful action.

Designed for Kentucky families and grounded in IDEA, federal regulations, Kentucky special education regulations, and authoritative guidance.

Helping families advocate with clarity, confidence, and purpose.

This training is provided for educational and informational purposes and is not legal advice. The Clarity in Advocacy™ Method is a proprietary framework of M. Patton Special Education Advocacy & Consulting.
