Clarity of Understanding: IEP & Progress Review Session
Service Description
Clarity of Understanding: IEP & Progress Review Understand the IEP. Understand the Data. Know What Questions to Ask. When you receive an IEP or progress report, it isn’t always easy to determine what the information actually means for your child. Is my child making meaningful progress? How is progress being measured? Do the goals address my child’s current needs? The Clarity of Understanding™: IEP & Progress Review is a focused advocacy consultation designed to help parents understand their child’s current IEP, annual goals, and progress-monitoring information—without requiring a comprehensive review of the child’s entire educational record. What’s Included ✨Focused Review of IEP and progress reports by advocate Prior to your consultation, I will review: * Your child’s current IEP * Most recent IEP progress report * Current progress-monitoring data provided by the school 60-Minute Individual Consultation During our session together, we will walk through the information together and discuss: * Your child’s identified educational needs * Current annual IEP goals * How progress toward each goal is being measured * What the available progress data appear to show * Whether reported progress is supported by understandable, measurable information * The connection between identified needs, goals, specially designed instruction, services, and progress * Areas where additional information or clarification may be helpful * Questions you may want to ask the ARC/IEP team * Potential next steps if you have concerns about progress You’ll Leave With Greater Clarity About: ✨What your child’s current IEP is designed to address ✨What the progress-monitoring information actually tells you ✨Whether you need additional data or clarification from the school ✨Questions to bring to your next ARC/IEP meeting ✨Areas you may want the ARC/IEP team to discuss further ✨Your most important advocacy priorities moving forward This Service May Be Right for You If: * You’ve received a progress report but aren’t sure what it actually means. * You’re being told your child is “making progress,” but you want to better understand the supporting data. * Your child’s annual goals have remained similar over time. * Your child receives passing grades, but you remain concerned about disability-related skill gaps. * You’re unsure how your child’s goals connect to specially designed instruction.
